This Tlingit Brown Bear Mauling Mask represents people who survive Brown Bear attacks in Alaska — a powerful symbol of resilience and coexistence with the wilderness. The wood itself, Broad Leaf Willow gifted from Glacier Bay, had natural deformities that inspired the design, making this a truly one-of-a-kind piece where the land shaped the art.
