Tlingit formline design of a Xa'at/Salmon beautifully painted onto this 17in hide Gaaw/Drum by Saat-Kaa Fred Fulmer, Xuna/Hoonah Tlingit Elder and Cultural Bearer. Xa'at/Salmon is important to Tlingit and Native peoples along the coast, referred to as Xa'at/Salmon eaters. The Salmon was the most important food source, and used as a Clan symbol as well.
