This Tlingit Ixt'/Shaman Mask was carved from Keishish/Alder across three seasons in Siteeyi Gheeyi/Glacier Bay — begun during Active Season 2024, mostly carved during Season 2025, left in Juneau and revisited with detail carving to complete in Season 2026. The mask wears a S'a'xt'/Devil's Club Luu/Nose bone, a traditional adornment that connects the Ixt'/Shaman figure to the healing and protective powers of the land and Tlingit Culture. Carved by hand using traditional tools Xu'taa/Adze, chisels, hook knives, straight knives, detail knives etc. by Fred Fulmer, Xuna/Hoonah Tlingit Elder and Cultural Bearer.
